Freezing your Bureau report or freezing your credit is the same thing, it can also be called a security freeze so lets break this down. When you freeze your credit or lock your credit these are two ways of making sure no one can use or view your credit, it protects you from unauthorized access. This is the same impact just different terms, it will not let anybody see your bureau report but remember you can't open new credit unless you unlock, or unfreeze it . In the mean time you need to be cleaning up what ever it is that's negative on your reports
When you freeze or lock which ever you will receive a sign in and a pin for each account so your going to need it, don't loose it.
A credit freeze is available to all consumers as well as a credit lock which ever term you use. A credit lock can be enabled or disabled instantly using a mobile device or the web, so if your at a dealership you can immediately unlock your credit. All 3 bureau may offer this for you at a fee so be sure to either ask or if on line read the fine print. A credit freeze can take up to 24 hours to let you in to remove it.
Collection companies are good at saying they pulled your information from a bureau when in fact they may not have. You want to remove all information from all accounts that are negative, that may take some time and then deal with the collection company's, remember they need to prove the debt.
Sometimes collections can be in house so you may need to settled as they will have your file, it will depend on how old it is, it could be out of the statue of limitations. There could be a wrong name dates, or billing mistakes it all depends so cross that road when you get there. Any question send me a message I do respond.
